Spring Nail Inspo
There’s nothing I love more than a good nail moment! And to me ANY season, holiday or trip is a good excuse to have fun nails.
My one beauty “thing” that I’ll always have done without fail is: my nails. I get them done every 3-4 weeks. In my many years of getting my nails done, I have tried various types of nail applications, everything from just gel polish, to good old acrylic, to dip, to Gel-X, to a hard or poly gel overlay. Right now, my favorite application is a hard or polygel overlay, because it keeps my nails healthy and provides a layer of gel to strengthen them. It also provides support for me to grow my natural nails longer.
But what is hard gel overlay? Essentially it's a hard gel applied on top of your natural nail only. The gel is then cured under a UV light and your tech will file and shape your nails before adding a color and/or design. I personally don’t add any nail tips, but you could have the gel overlay on top of your nail plus a nail extension.
Other than a hard gel overlay my other biggest recommendation when it comes to nails is getting an experienced nail technician who will prioritize the health of your nails to ensure you’re not damaging them.
